What type of office furniture do you have in your office? Office furniture that is outdated or improper may be leading to workplace injuries or it can cause aches and pains that could easily be prevented. Practicing proper office ergonomics can help to increase productivity as your employees are not dealing with things like eye strain and common aches and pains. Some companies are turning to kneeling chairs to give their employees an extra option for office furniture.

Are kneeling chair beneficial to your employees? They have started to gain a lot of popularity and may people find that it is nice to have one to switch up so you aren't sitting all the time. Some kneeling chairs will come with a backrest where others do not include the backrest. One of the greatest perks to kneeling chairs is that they can help with your posture and encourage you to sit up straight. This can dramatically reduce back pain and strain. It also protects the spinal cord over the years as it can become damaged by the pressure of hunching at a desk.

The goal of the kneeling chair is to try and reduce the amount of pressure that is placed on the spinal cord. Limiting the weigh that is placed on the spinal cord helps to reduce the pains and aches you may experience throughout the workday and will help to evenly distribute your weight. With a kneeling chair you will distribute the weight from the shins and knees and reduces how much strain you place on your back. Initially getting used to the kneeling chair will take some time but once you try it out and get used to sitting this way you may start feeling the benefits immediately.

People that use kneeling chairs need to work up to them. When you first purchase one you will only be able to sit in it for about an hour or two. Over time as your body starts to adjust to the kneeling chair and you feel comfortable with it you can start spending more time in the kneeling chair. Your back may be quite used to hunching and it will take a little time to train your body to sit upright in this new posture where you are not hunching and having extra pressure on the back.

Usually within a few days you will notice some back pain relief. Neck pain relief is also something that you should start to feel when you use a kneeling chair. The only downside that people see is that the knees can start to hurt a little. This is when you need to alternate from kneeling to standing or sitting in a normal chair for a little bit. Stretch out the knees and do not let the blood pool in your legs.

Kneeling chairs look a bit awkward and you may have doubts about your ability to climb in and out of the chair. Initially you may look funny trying to figure it out but most people say it's easier to get out of a kneeling chair than you might think and they also report that they can get out of them faster and can move around easier with this chair.

Try out several kneeling chairs before making a buying decision. Padding is important as you need to ensure you are getting a chair that is well padded on the legs and knees so you won't have pain. You also need to try out several chairs to see which one feels comfortable to you. Most of the chairs won't come with several adjustment knobs on them so you have to really be picky with the chair to ensure you aren't going to be up too high on your desk.
