As an employer you are already aware of the fact that when your employees get sick it actually affects your business. But how bad it affects your business is going to depend on how many employees you have and how often they actually get sick. But even if you only have two employees that only get sick about twice a year you are still going to want to do everything that you can to make sure that your employees stay healthy. And the reason for this is that healthy employees are more productive, which is only good news for your business. As a business owner you are trying to do everything that you can to help your employee stay healthy, including offering them health insurance. But what you might not know is that there are other incentives that you can offer your employees to help ensure that they stay in good health.

Here are some incentives for employee health that you can offer your employees.

Number one:
One thing that you can do is to offer to pay 100% of the employees' medical premiums if the employee agrees to participate. This is actually a really good incentive because it will encourage your employees to join these wellness programs because they are not going to have to pay any money towards their insurance premiums, which over time can really add up.

Something else that you can do is to set up a sick policy that will allow the employees to be rewarded for not using their sick days. But with this you are going to need to be really careful because what can actually happen is that rather than calling in sick your employees are going to show up to work while they are really sick just so they don't miss any time off work so they cab still get that reward. So you need to be careful about setting up this kind of a reward plan.

Something else that you can do is to offer your employees various wellness programs. You can do this by bringing in medical experts to your place of business so that your employees can have a full check up in s many words. But basically they will get a personalized wellness program based on what their current needs are. And by joining this program you can offer to pay them wellness credits, which they can actually use towards their deductible for their health insurance plan. And the best part is if they don't ever have to use their health insurance plan they won't have any out of pocket costs, which means they end up saving money.

Number four:
Something else that you can do is to work with your insurance carrier about coming up with a plan that will offer lower co-pays or deductibles to employees who choose a healthier lifestyle. Basically this would be directed towards your employees who participate in wellness programs or who are already living a healthy lifestyle. But this can include stop smoking programs, weight loss programs, and any other program that promotes a healthier lifestyle.

But regardless of what kind of an incentive you offer your employees for a healthier lifestyle one thing that you need to keep in mind is how you are going to go about offering these incentives to your employees. Basically what you want to focus on is how your employees are actually living healthier rather than on the unhealthy lifestyle, basically you want to focus on the good rather than the bad. What this means is don't tell your employees because you are choosing to live an unhealthy lifestyle you are going to have to pay higher costs, but rather tell them since you joined this program to help get health you will be able to pay lower rates.
