Replacing your desks with treadmill desks

With the rise in obesity, employers are turning to new ways to help their employees lose weight and stay in shape. The treadmill desk is one of the best ways to improve your health. While you are typing away, you can be walking your way to good health. Some people can get in a 5 mile walk or longer just from using a treadmill desk.

Treadmills are beneficial because they give you a good aerobic workout and you can regulate how fast you want to walk, how steep you want to incline, and how long you want to exercise. Using a treadmill daily and walking for 30 minutes a day will put 2 additional hours on your life expectancy.

The other benefit of a treadmill desk is that you can use it anytime of the day. You can get your exercise in while you are listening to a conference call or when you are sending emails to clients in other countries. A treadmill desk is beneficial because you don't have to go outside to use it; you can use it inside during the rainy and snowy weather outside. A treadmill also protects you against safety hazards that are outside like tripping on a crack in the sidewalk.

When you are walking or running on the treadmill, you will be able to see exactly how far you have gone, how many calories you have burned, and what your heart rate is. Several treadmills also come with personal training programs that are designed to help you burn more calories by adjusting the speed and incline for your needs.

Employees that use treadmill desks usually walk at a slow speed so they don't get dizzy or trip. The handrails are there to prevent you from falling, but you shouldn't rely on them to hold you up as you exercise. When people use the handrails too much, it can actually cause backaches and it can hurt your chest muscles.

As you use the treadmill desk, you will find that you don't snack as much and you drink more water. This will help you lose weight and increase your health. As you exercise each day, you will easily gain more energy because you are increasing your lung capacity.

Treadmills are a great way to tone up your muscles. Within the first month of using the treadmill desk, you will notice a difference in your legs. Initially your legs will tone up and they won't be as flabby as they were when you were sitting all day. Belly fat will also decrease if you can walk on the treadmill each day for at least 5 miles.

Employers need to allow a casual dress code if they provide their employees with treadmill desks. If they don't want employees showing up in sweats, at least let them wear a good pair of tennis shoes. If you don't wear tennis shoes, your feet will start to hurt and the other dress shoes will rub against the toes and cause painful blisters to occur.

The treadmill desks increase energy and stamina and increase blood flow and oxygen levels in the body. All your muscles are able to get some oxygen and this will rejuvenate them. Employees that use the treadmill desks often find that they are on the computer less, which helps their eyes because they aren't straining them as much.
