As employers we need to start investing in our employee's health. These individuals help to drive our business and it is important to take the time to focus on their health. By doing this you are showing your employees how much you care about them and you are also able to show your employees that you are invested in them. Not only will you be able to have a happier and productive workforce, your employees will be healthier and this can reduce your insurance premiums.

Many employers strive to have a healthier and productive workforce but fail to see how their role in cleaning the office and also focusing on adding healthier snack items can make a difference. Employers need to create a motivated workforce through example. Promote a healthier workplace by living it in your life. You need to start exercising and eating healthier so employees can see that you are committed to it. This is important if you are planning to implement a wellness program and you expect to get your employees involved with it.

There are a number of programs you can use in order to focus on improving employee health. Here are some of the programs to choose from that will be able to encourage employees to living healthier lives.

Employee Assistance Program
This is a great program that you can offer to your employees. What this will do is help your employees to focus on health by turning to a program that allows them to have assistance for exercise and nutrition and even financial relief. These counselors and professionals are able to provide your employee with confidential information and they can easily help them to pay off debt and other things like learning how to manage stress and fight addictions. The Employee Assistance Program is a great benefit to your company and your employees will truly appreciate it. Employees that are suffering from mental disorders or are currently dealing with tragedy may be extremely appreciative of the Employee Assistance Program as they are able to get the counseling and help they need to make it through these hard times.

Wellness Program
A great way to get your employees to lose weight and to focus on eating right is by introducing a wellness program. In order for this to work you need to have a great incentive that your employees will not be able to resist. You also need to work on setting up the program correctly to motivate your employees to actually get involved. The wellness program you create needs to have goal setting and weekly weigh ins and other things to help the employees stay on track with their goals. Be an example to the employees and really work hard to achieve what your goals are so the employees see that you are serious about the wellness program. Keep them focused on it by bringing in a personal trainer and a nutritionist midway through the program. This helps the employees to focus on being healthier and to sticking to their goals. If you can offer discounts to programs like Weight Watchers or even offering a gym pass, your employees will really appreciate it and have the motivation to exercise.

Insurance
To help your employees focus on their health, reward them by offering them health insurance. This is a great way to improve their spirits as they can have insurance to pay for their emergency medical needs. You should also show the employees how living healthier can reduce their premiums and give them more money per paycheck! If the employees are able to reduce the premium amount, make sure you pass that savings onto them and be sure to really thank them for their efforts to stay healthy.
