If you are worried about the health of your employees, you have every reason to be worried. There is a growing healthcare crisis in America due to poor diet, lack of exercise, and unhealthy lifestyle habits. If you do not yet have a wellness program implemented that focuses on improving the health of your staff, it may be time that you turn to one. Your employees can do some simple things in order to improve their health and they may not even realize it. As an employer you need to focus on their health because it does impact not only your health insurance costs but your company's bottom line. When employees are in good health they are more productive and they are likely to contribute more to the company. They also don't take as much time off work and you won't need to deal with morale issues caused by employees that are failing to come to work because they are ill. So what are some of the health tips you can pass onto your employees? There are many to choose from but here are some of the best health tips to shed some light on in order to make a difference for your company.

Encourage your employees to get a full nights rest
Many people do not place enough emphasis on rest. People often do not get the proper amount of rest they need for their bodies to work correctly. Some people will say they can survive on 5 hours of sleep each night but lack of sleep does lead to a number of issues from decreased stamina to lower productivity. Encourage your employees to get at least 8 hours of rest each night in order to have mental clarity and to be able to perform well at their job.

Encourage healthier eating
The other thing you need to do is to work on healthier eating. Your employees need to fuel their bodies with foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals in order to think clearly and to really have the right type of energy they need to perform their job duties. While you cannot control what your employees eat you can control what they snack on and you can get rid of the vending machines that are filled with unhealthy options. Instead of filling up on soda and candy your employees will have access to things like granola bars, dried fruit, and 100% fruit juice. These foods will all help them to perform better and to really feel better. Make sure they have access to water as this will help to clear their minds and will allow them to perform their job duties effectively. Water does help aid in mental clarity and will be able to help your employees feel better and will allow them to think clearly as well.

Encourage exercise
As an employer you can use a wellness program to really encourage your employees to start exercising and to get in shape. You need to encourage your employees to exercise for at least 30 minutes each day in order to have the right type of health. If it is possible try to offer your employees access to a health club or an onsite exercise facility where they can focus on getting in shape. When you do encourage your employees to exercise and give them access, they will have a much easier time actually moving forward with exercise and finding time to do it. You need to exercise daily as well in order to get your employees interested in exercise as they can see the benefits it is having in your life.
