Weight loss rewards

Some people just aren't motivated when it comes to weight loss and they will only do it if they know they will get something in return. Weight loss rewards are a great way to encourage your employees to drop some extra pounds. Take a look at some of the things you do for your employees to reward them for their hard work. Normally companies will provide lunch and bring in food for their employees to reward them for their hard work. While food is nice, it negates the point of weight loss and it can be really challenging for your employees to resist the temptation of a bagel or doughnut.

Instead of offering food to your staff members, look at some alternative weight loss rewards. Here are some fund weight loss rewards that have been used with other companies:

  • Water bottles
  • Backpacks
  • Hats
  • Plants
  • Paid time off
  • Cash compensation
  • Gift cards

There are hundreds of other weight loss rewards you can try, and they don't always need to be focused on food. If you want to reward them with food, opt for fruit or vegetable trays instead of doughnuts. Chicken pasta salads are another great food dish that won't pack on the extra weight. For breakfast, bring in some oatmeal and fruit over doughnuts and bagels. Even granola bars are a wonderful alternative to some of the fatty breakfast foods out there.

Going back to plants, why not start rewarding your employees with a nice plant? Small plants are a great for the office and they help to lift the spirits of some employees. You can search for unique plants that will catch your employee's eye and will truly tell them how proud you are that they lost the weight. The great thing about rewarding employees with plants is that they can last for a long time. While some plants die quickly, others are known for lasting well over 5 years, especially when they are taken care of.

One of the best gifts you can give your employees is time off work. Everyone wants to spend a few extra minutes at home whether it is playing with their kids or playing with their favorite video game, it's always nice to have some extra time away from the office. If you offer the time off to teams, make sure everyone takes off time when they have other staff members there to cover their shift. It would be horrible to lose 5 employees at the same time because they are using the free time you gave them. Try giving your employees the free time to use on a Friday afternoon. Fridays tend to be the day that everyone wants to have free so they can start their weekend early. Allowing your employees to leave at noon instead of 5 pm can really boost employee morale. This can even inspire other overweight employees to work harder so they can also get a Friday afternoon off.

If you are a smaller company and you cannot afford expensive rewards for your employee's weight loss, try giving them a simple hand-written note. This may not have the same impact as cash, but at least your employees will know that you recognized their hard work and that you are trying to show them how much you truly care about them. You can also include a "free card" for the employees to use if something happens within the company that can be related to their problem. This can help out an employee that arrives to work 15 minutes late or an employee that has problems with minor mistakes.
