Investment grants, do they exist?

Investment grants do exist, if you know where to look.Money that is given to you that does not need to be paid back is called grant money. However, most grantors closely monitor the money they give in grants and expect it to be used in certain ways.Federal grants may be very difficult to qualify for because they have lots of red tape and the application process is long and time consuming.

You will find grants given at nearly every level of government from the local municipal to the federal government. Some of these grants are designated for investing while others are strictly prohibited. However, you will most likely not find any that will allow you to speculate on the market for your own gain. Most will come with strings attached and the money will have to be used for specific purposes.

The grant money will be designated for different purposes by the grantor. The use of the money will greatly depend on who is giving the money to you.For instance, if you receive a grant from the federal welfare division, they will most likely want you to invest the money in such a way that it benefits those that are in need of welfare.A good example of that would be investing in real estate to provide housing for those that are on welfare.

Real estate is one of the largest sectors you will find government investment grant money available. The government needs to provide housing for people that are unable to afford housing. The government can provide and maintain the housing themselves or give incentives and grants to investors to do the same thing. You have probably heard of some of the abuses of tax dollars in government housing and they are often not good housing. Thus, the federal and state governments have created multiple grant programs that encourage investors to provide housing for the indigent.

You will find that local city governments also give grants and other incentives to investors for a number of reasons.Housing is, again, a good example. If an inner city area has become an eye sore and needs to be revitalized, the city can give grants to be used to fix the area up.Yes the money can be used to fix private property, but it will most likely come with strings attached. Many cities will provide money to homeowners to purchase trees and other items to make the city look better. This raises property values which in turn makes tax revenue increase. The private sector may also be willing to provide grants because as an area is improved more traffic is created and it drives business in their area.

Additionally, you will find that the government is not the only place you can find investment grants. The companies and organizations in the private sector give out many grants for a variety of reasons.Again, you will not find grants that allow you to speculate in the stock market for your own gain. However, the private sector receives tax incentives and other benefits for giving grants. If you are investing in the items that a company supports or needs, you may find a grant is available. For instance, if you are investing in creating an alternative fuel, you will find many companies interested in your success. You will find that companies want to see you succeed and may be willing to support you financially.

In summary, you will find a number of private and government grants that allow you to invest with the grant money. However, you will have to follow the guidelines that are set forth by the grant. If you are investing in something like poor housing that the government wants to encourage and support, you can probably find a grant for the investment.Find what you want to invest in and then find the entity that your investment benefits and you may be surprised how much money is available.
