How pricing your product is a part of marketing

When most people think of marketing, they think of one thing-advertising. Marketing means, basically, that you've got a product or a service and you want to sell it and so you come up with a bunch of TV commercials and magazine ads and presto!-marketing. But the truth is, marketing is a little more complicated than that. Marketing means a whole lot of things, because marketing is the way businesspeople prepare a product or service for the market in general. Let's look at one little aspect of marketing. Let's look at the question of how pricing your product is a part of marketing. We'll look at three or four ways in which pricing is a key part of successful marketing.

1. Again, when we're marketing something we're preparing something for the market in general. Marketing, therefore, raises questions such as: How will we respond to the public's response to our TV commercials and magazine ads? Let's say we get 1,000 orders for X. How are we going to make 1,000 of X, and send it to 1,000 places? Etc. And so pricing gets in there, too. Pricing is a very complicated part of marketing. Ask yourself next time you go shopping: Who decided that this would be the price for my shampoo? Who exactly honed in on $49.99 for this outdoor grill? Surely they didn't pull the numbers out of a hat? Surely.

How to best use search engine marketing.

manatcomputer16486602.jpg
The World Wide Web has changed the way we all do business.Even if the internet is not a company's primary way of doing business, a company who does not use the internet is going to lose business to the competition that effectively uses the internet to market its products and services. In addition to marketing the business, the company who uses good computer technology to do the business transactions such as ordering, credit card purchases, shopping carts, delivery methods, shipping tracking, customer service, returns, warranty service, and any other form of customer interaction, will gain market share over those who neglect this important media.Almost all major retailers, even those with chains of stores, have an online alternative to walking into a store. But there must be an effective way for a company, and their web site, and the consumer, and their money, can get together. One of the most important ways this can take place is through web search engines.

Imagine the busy business man who wants to order some office supplies. How is he going to find them?He may open the yellow pages, or he may ask an associate for a recommendation, but more often than not, he will find himself in front of his computer, and the first place he will go on the internet will be his search engine. He types in a few keywords: "office supplies" in the search text.He immediately has a number of choices at his fingertips. He decides to click on the very first choice, but he doesn't like the web site, so he backs out, and clicks on the second choice. This web site seems much more inviting. He enters "copy paper" into the web site's search text box, so that he can find out what he really wants to know first, the price. The price seems satisfactory, and he checks his watch to see how long he has before he needs to leave for his lunch appointment. He needs to leave in about 15 minutes, and he wasn't planning on doing this until after lunch, but there is no harm in at least entering a few items into the shopping cart.He does this, and is prompted to set up his account. He figures he still has time, so he enters some relatively simple information such as his business name, shipping address, credit card information, and so forth. With everything all done except to check out, he figures he might as well just finish the order. He clicks on the checkout button, chooses the two day ground delivery method, and finalizes the order. He goes to lunch with piece of mind, knowing that he made effective use of his time, got a good price for his supplies, and if everything works out with this order, he has a future merchant with which to do business in the future.

Constructing your internet marketing plans

You company has decided to implement an internet marketing campaign, but your not sure where to begin. You want to have an amazing web site, as well as all the ways to bring prospective customers to your site. But how should you go about it?Should you have your own employees do it or hire an agency to do it?What kind of computer equipment should you use, or should you hire an IT firm to do it all?

- Build your web site.
All the traffic building strategies in the world won't help you if your web site is no good.Once you have a web site you can be proud of, the rest will fall into place. You can build it yourself or by using your employees. You can also hire an information technology firm to do it and maintain it for you.If your web site is going to be relatively simple, you can look at other web sites that you like, and emulate them.If your site has many pages, on line ordering, order tracking, shopping carts, large customer databases, and a need to be able to handle lots of traffic, then make sure your can meet the demands that will be placed on it.You will do this by making sure that your web servers are powerful enough, and your web development software is up to date using the latest technologies. You will want to make sure that whoever develops your site are using a web development environment that has a proven track record, and that they incorporate flash animation as part of the overall development.Someone on the staff must be good at graphics and photography. If you purchase space from an internet service provider, you will make sure that the amount of disk space and CPU horsepower is enough for the number of customers you expect. Before you release your web site for public use, you will have beta testers find problems, so you can resolve them before the public sees them.

Studies haven't been consistent in showing a lot of benefit to companies who invade a person's email box with loads of advertisements. Let's consider, then, a few things about email marketing.
1. Let's face it, the Internet is, in many ways, the place to be. Just consider how the Internet has affected politics and the news during the past few years.
