Following up with your customers

olderwomanonphone32013024.jpgOnce you complete a sale with your customers, what are you doing to follow up with the customers? One of the biggest mistakes you will make with marketing is forgetting to follow up with your customers. If you aren't showing your customers that you appreciate them and that you are grateful for them, it will be hard for you to foster stronger relationships with them.

How can you follow up with your customers and when should you follow up with them? One of the easiest ways to follow up with your customers is by sending out an email to your customers within a day or two after their product has been delivered. This way you can gather the information from your customers quicker and that you will also be able to quickly make changes that can impact the next few orders you send out. Something as simple as your packaging can make a huge impact on your customers and it can make it or break it for an order.

Email is a great way to follow up with an order but an even better way is by sending out a personalized letter. Sending out a hand written letter to your customers can help you build stronger relationships with your customers and it also helps you to be known as a better organization. Fostering relationships is a huge part of marketing and if you aren't making the effort to get out there and to build relationships with your customers, it may never come.

Work on hiring the right people for your organization. Marketing is all about customer service. When you have the right employees, they will all be able to get in touch with your customers and they can focus on building relationships with them. Have the employees call your customers within a week or two in order to find out if they are happy with the product and if they found your company to be a good one to work with. Take their suggestions to heart and focus on changing them if your customers were pretty adamant about things that need to be changed.

How is your marketing follow-up program? What are you doing to continue marketing to your new customers? Follow-up product offers like discounts on new services is a great way to get in touch with your customers and it's a great way to generate sales in a short amount of time. A number of companies engage in "bounce-back" programs. This is where a customer will buy a product or service from you and then within 2 weeks they will come back to buy one again. Generating a high amount of revenue like this in such a short time period is a great way follow up with your customers and to check on their satisfaction levels and is a great way to take this money and put it right back into your advertising campaign and to put it into the production of your products.

Taking the extra money and putting it back into the business is the best thing you can do and it's a great way to show the customers that you are using their money to help provide higher quality products ors services.

To build stronger customer relationships you always need to evaluate your marketing campaign from the top down. Is it working the way it should? Does everyone within the company focus on meeting the demands of the customers and to treat them well? Get to know your customers and let them know just how much you appreciate their support and service and you will develop a better organization.
