Guerilla marketing tactics

Like with most marketing tactics guerrilla marketing tactics will work better for some businesses than others, but that doesn't mean that your business should avoid guerrilla marketing tactics. If you are interested in using guerrilla marketing tactics but are not sure where to start here are some of the best guerrilla marketing tactics that any business can use.

Number one: Partnerships

You will want to team up with another company to handle some of your marketing; the more companies you can get together to form a marketing group the better. You want to join up with numerous companies because people are more likely to listen to your marketing message if it is coming from a different company. The best thing that you can do is go out and find various companies that have about the same amount of money to spend on their marketing budget that your business does. Pool your money together and spend it all on the best promotion that your area has seen in a long time. The more money you can get together the better your marketing campaign is going to be, which means better results for all businesses involved.

Number two: Stunt marketing

This is a tricky tactic because in order for it to leave a lasting impression on your customers it has to be done right. You want to do something that is going to be eye-catching so that people look at themselves and say "Wow! That is different." You need to be careful with this tactic because it can backfire and end up hurting your business. For example, you can offer discounts to people who fit into a certain category or a certain age range. You want to do something creative that will get people talking about your business.

Number three: Influencer marketing

This tactic works for people who can be swayed by hearing an opinion from people that they trust. What you have to do with this tactic is get people who have some real pull with your target group of customers and get them to talk about your product. If you live in a small town, you can get community members who are influence to talk about the product or service that you are offering. When looking for people to influence other people you want to choose somebody that have served on a committee or local organization, has written an article for a magazine or newspaper, is actively involved in a group that is trying to influence public policy, made a public speech and other things that put them in the public eye.

Number four: Experimental marketing

If you are confident in your product, you can allow certain people to try out your product free. This is successfully because people are more likely to try something if they don't have to pay for it, that way they know what they are going to get when they spend their money on it. A great example of this would be grocery stores that allow you to taste the products that they sell by offering samples throughout the store. If you like, the product you are more likely to purchase it.

Number five: Smiling and handshakes

This is important because it is going to help you build tighter bonds with your customers. This is important to always practice because if a customer calls and somebody is crabby at your place of business you can lose that customer. You want to do everything that you can to always be happy, helpful, and polite when customers come in or call your place of business. If not you can risk losing customers, which means all of the money you have spent on marketing is going down the drain.
