So you want eyes popping and people paying attention to your effective yellow pages ad? Want to catch the most fish? Short and sweet here is what you do.

Literally short and sweet is the way to make an effective yellow pages ad.
You will want to put the most valuable information written in the shortest amount of space. Add a little humor and some catchy words and there you go.

Have I got your attention? Who am I writing to? What do I want? I caught the fish!

There are the basics to your ad that will need to be filled in. The name of your company, phone number, address, hours of operation and Internet information are the main fill in. But, that is not what we are talking about.

There are strong words that catch an eye just due to human nature. Some great examples of power words are money, free, time, choice, gift, help, happiness and stress. Many of us are busy fast-paced people and look for the something that will help us work faster or more efficient. Things that will help us enjoy life or increase the quality of life we have. Using words to catch attention of the consumer will increase the effectiveness of your yellow pages ad.

Writing to the audience you are looking to attract is the next step
. Though this can be a little tricky, consider who your consumer is. Are you writing about food, clothing, art, or entertainment? Simply target the idea behind what you want to sale. What is the consumer looking for? Who will be reading your effective yellow pages ad? What is the age group? What are the needs of that consumer? Once you answer those questions, then writing the effective yellow pages ad will be simple.

Give the consumer a reason to read your ad. Specify the product or service you are offering. For example: A car sales man might say- "We have the right car for you"
Catching the attention of the shopper and filling a need. Remember it all needs to be short and sweet. For an effective yellow pages ad, it all has to be within the first look.

Everyone wants an expert
. Regardless of what we are selling use the expertise and credit you have to show the customer that the product you want to sell is worth it to them. We want the best. No matter our financial situation. We all want to eat and live the best we can. That includes getting the greatest service available. If you have been in business 10 years, include that. If it is a family business include that. If you have licenses or certifications necessary for your profession, include those. If you have sold 1 million hamburgers, include that.

Show genuine care and concern for the consumers need for this merchandise.
People need to have some trust for the product, and people they purchase this product from.

Finally let's make a deal
. The bargain hunter is on the prowl. Show your great prices or deals that will make people drool. I personally look for a great deal because it makes me feel like I won. Competition makes the heart grow fonder.

Use some bullets; throw in some color, maybe a small graphic to catch the eye.
Ask a question or point out a strong need. Appeal to the winner in your consumer. I would want to read your effective yellow pages ad.

Give the consumer something to want at a great price and you win. They will be at your doorstep or on the phone to get their new item shipped right over.
