Who will be interested in your products or services? The "who" can consist of certain age groups? But, it can also consist of ethnic groups, interest groups, and even genders. You will want to take a little time to evaluate who will be willing to spend their hard earned money on your products or services.

When you look around at who will be using your products, you can also gather good information from your competitors. This is because the businesses that are currently selling products like yours already are aware of their target market. They are already in the process of profiting from their products and services.

"Where" will you need to focus your marketing efforts:

"Where" will be the final part of making sure your marketing plan is on target. You will want to look at where your focus is affecting your profits. You will need to track changes, and the results of your marketing and advertising.

When you track this information, like increased sells when there are adjustments in your marketing, or changes in the way you do advertising, you will be able to see that what you are doing is working.
