Every business owner is looking for new an innovative marketing tactics to boost their income. Online marketing has been used by many businesses looking to branch out of print marketing methods. However, there are other marketing tactics you can use to boost your income and gain a solid reputation in your industry. Here are a few tips that may help:

Tip # 1 - Existing Customers

Never underestimate the power of your existing customers. These individuals are key to helping your business expand as they can provide you with referrals. In fact, research has shown that 80% of your business will come from returning customers. This is why it's important to take the time to market to your existing customers. It is much easier to market to them because they already know and trust your company. They have had past interaction with your company so they know what your company is about; eliminating the initial product promotion steps you need to take with new customers. Thank-you mailers are a great way to market to your existing customers and build life-long relationships with them.

Tip # 2 - Discounts and money-saving marketing

Customers love an excuse to shop. If you can lure them in with some discounts or good offers, they will flock to your store. Take a look at your inventory; do you have some older inventory that can be cleared off the shelves? Try combining them with some of your newer products. This 2 for 1 deal will convince the customer that they are saving money and many of them will purchase more than they originally intended to. When you promote your marketing message, be sure to emphasize the amount of money your customers will save. Give them a deadline to purchase the products by as this will install a sense of urgency and force them to by now in order to save money.

Tip # 3 - Make it easy

Your customers must be able to easily get your products. Provide them will multiple ways of getting your products, online, mail order, phone order, and store shopping. While you may not be able to afford a large store, provide them with the opportunity to at least see and hold the products in the store and then offer to ship them for free if you don't have them on site. If you can make it easier for your customers to purchase products from your company, they usually purchase more than they intend to. Don't give your customers the ability to think about what they are buying, add multiple "deals" to your store so the customer keeps adding more thinking they are actually saving money. If you want to collect customer information for email newsletters, do so after the sale has been made. It's easier to do it then because you didn't interrupt the customer during their checkout process, making it easier for them to get what they wanted. Plus, you have the opportunity to send them a follow-up thank-you message and encourage them to buy from your store again.

Tip # 4 - Continue to market over and over

Don't give up on a particular campaign because you didn't see immediate results. It can take 3-5 different marketing campaigns before you actually convince a customer to buy from you. Continue to try different marketing tactics to persuade these individuals to buy from your store.

Tip # 5 - Trust

In order to boost your sales, you must earn your customer's trust. You can do this through consistent marketing campaigns. It also helps to have a solid distribution process and good customer service skills. Start a blog and address some of your customer's needs, this will help to build trust between you and your customers.
