Industry analyst predict that by the end of this decade there could be nearly 10 billion handheld devices, worldwide, that would accept mobile marketing. This gives businesses access to a larger target market, then ever before.
- Mobile marketing is widely used by consumers-Mobile marketing has moved way beyond a simple text message, alerting your customers to the daily deal. Today, customers can search on their phones, before making a final buying decision. Up to 50% of mobile users say that they regularly use a Search feature, which is more then social networking, news, sports or any other activity that can be done on a mobile unit.
- Mobile marketing has increased in functionality-When mobile marketing began it was used simply for inputs from business to the consumer. Now mobile marketing has functions that allow fro both communication with the customer and sharing within the community. This can be done by asking your customers to get involved in voting, contests, polls, and other interactive marketing messages. This increase in functionality has also lead to higher response rate, from all demographics that use mobile marketing.
- Mobile marketing is consumer friendly-Unlike other forms of marketing, the customers who receive your mobile marketing have opt in. This means that they are looking forward to your messages, and will not send just delete them out of annoyance. This leads to businesses being able to more effectively market, to the consumers who are most interested in them. However, keep in mind that just like any other type of marketing, you must be able to offer your customers something of value, or they will soon opt out.
