Tips for writing a press ad

re are six tips for writing press ads. A snazzy, eye-popping press ad is not that hard. The main thing is that you want to create a reason for the consumer to read. You are not going to try to sell something. If there is an abundance of spam in order to make a sale, you will lose the readers attention.

Here are five tips that will make it easier to get the attention of your reader by creating an informative and attractive press ad.

If you are selling something, then you are asking for money to be given for a product. If you are writing a press ad, you are showing the consumer that you have a new product, an updated product, a new store, or something along that lines that would attract the attention of a consumer.

Tip #2

The very first line of your press ad should include "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" This will get the thought pattern for immediate action moving. The date can be included with this also. Depending on how you want the information to look. This is one of the best ways to get the reader to realize that the release is now!

Along with this big line in the beginning, you will need the "headline" to be as equally attractive. The reason is that a person may or may not look past the first line if it is not interesting, then it will be likely not.

Tip #3

The first paragraph of your press ad needs to be a summation of the entire ad. The reason is that there are many people who will not want to look at an entire ad simply for time and boredom reasons.

There will need to be a clear explanation of who, what, when, where and why. This way you will be able to get the consumers to the release of what ever it is that you are writing about in the press ad.

Tip #4

Use some play with the way the press add is written. However, never use all capitalizations, or all italics, or all bolds. The reason is that those are used to get specific attention. Also the use of color needs to be attractive, not obnoxious.

People read what is pleasant to the eye. If it is outrageously bright, or not readable due to distractions, you will find that less people will take the time to get the information from the ad.

Tip #5

Make your words talk for you. This means do not say what you want the people to read, show them what you want them to read. Create a visual affect from the words you use. This will be so that the consumer can see what you are trying to bring their attention to.

Tip #6

Put all contact information that is needed in the press ad. The consumer will look for your contact information if they are interested in the information about your ad. The contact information should be the address, the phone number, the Internet information and anything else that can lead the consumer to you.

Following these tips will increase the overall effectiveness of your press ad. That is what marketing is all about, getting recognition for the company as needed for increasing the overall sales.
