What do you do when your marketing plan isn't working?

concernedman19185284.jpgDespite your best efforts you may find that you are simply stuck trying to market your company and get the attention you need in order to take your business to the next level. What can you do in order to market your business correctly and to focus on boosting your name? Here are some new marketing ideas that may help:

Boost your website traffic
Offline promotions may not be working correctly so change gears to online marketing techniques. You can easily generate more interest in your company by changing your focus to online marketing techniques. Start driving more traffic to your website through pay-per-click campaigns, affiliate marketing techniques, and several other online promotions. As you focus on your website, also take a look at the way it is designed. Is it easy to navigate or does it seem cluttered and confusing? You need to have a website that is easy to read and easy to manage.

Create better landing pages for your pay-per-click ads. A landing page is basically an online salesman for your company. This pages needs to clearly educate your customers in a timely manner and it must be able to provide your customers with quick information they need to determine if they want to buy your product. The page must be easy to load so use smaller images and files.

Boost your customer service
Far too often your marketing efforts are failing because of your employees. If you don't have a strong staff to come in there and convince your customers to buy products, you aren't going to be in business for long. You need to talk to all the people that interact directly with the customers and teach them how to amp up their customer service skills. Part of boosting customer service comes down to the way in which they talk to the customers, are they on a rush to get them off the phone, do they treat them with respect and have a positive attitude when they are in the store? Nothing can help a marketing program more than quality customer service.

Quit focusing on the big boys
While you need to know what your competition is up to so you can compete, you need to stop wasting money on marketing efforts that are too expensive. You wan to stop focusing on commercial advertising if you can barley afford to send out a printed mailing campaign. Keep an eye on your competition so you know what they are doing but you don't need to blitz the market every time they do.

Get in tune with your customers
A big part of marketing comes down to your ability to get in touch with your customers. Send out surveys and gather information from them. You need to be able to find out what they like and don't like about your products and your company in order to create a better marketing message. What things are turning them away from your company? What is it about your competition that they like? The more you get in touch with your customers the easier it will be for you to create a marketing message that is made specifically for them.

Social media sites can really help you out when you are trying to learn about your customers. Use the discussion boards and talk to your customers to find out how you can make your products better and to find out what they expect from your company. You can also use social media sites to leak new product information and generate a buzz for your company without spending a dime to market the new products.
