What is a flip book, and how does it help your marketing

A flip book is book that uses a series of pictures rather than words to tell a story or promote an idea. How a flip book works is that a series of pictures are drawn to tell a story, each picture varies little from the rest. For example if you are making a flip book that shows a person walking the dog the first picture would be a person standing with a dog on a leash, the next picture would have the person's leg and dog's leg up in midair, the third picture would show the legs coming down towards the ground, and so on and so forth until the walk is completed. With flip books you simply look at the picture and flip the pictures with your thumb to create the animation.

In the early days of flip books they were commonly used as prizes in kids' breakfast cereals and in boxes of Cracker Jacks. It was not until later that companies like Disney, Gillette, McDonald's, and numerous others began to use flip books to help promote their products. They used flip books for interactive brochures, promotional giveaways, and novelties all to help encourage the public to buy their products rather than somebody else's, which is what marketing your product is about. But as time went on flip books became a thing of the past because our technology advanced and brought about new forms of advertising and ways to market your products.

But as with any good form of marketing flip books have made another appearance. But rather than having to use the hand drawn version of flip books we can now use more advanced technology to create flip books. Our technology now allows use to make flip books out of video clips, photographs, and other media sources. Another way that our advanced technology helps flip books is that the pictures are better quality then they were previously. For example the older Disney movies that were animated have a lower color quality then the ones they have digitally restored. The reason for this is the amount of pixels in the picture. The higher the pixels they better quality picture you are going to get.

Flip books are once again being used in marketing for interactive brochures and promotional giveaways for live events, trade shows and other marketing activities. Because of our advanced technology flip books are now being created by companies that have made flip books their specialty. All you have to do is send them your artwork, animation, company logo, etc and they will make your flip book or you can request a template so you can do some of the art work in house.

Here are some ideas that you can use flip books for:
- More effective marketing brochures. You can use flip-animation to show your customers what your company has to offer in terms of products or services. You can include your products form, function and key benefits in your flip book.
- Increase direct mail response rates. Using this new technique you can help breakthrough your potential customers "don't bother me" attitude, by delivering your advertisement in a flip book rather than just a boring old flyer.
- They are the perfect trade-show giveaway item. Because of how small and lightweight flip books are they can easily slide into somebody's pocket. So you can use flip books at trade-shows to give away to anybody who walks by your table or you can mail them out as a "pre-show" marketing tool.

Just remember whatever idea you come up with can most likely be turned into a flip book and you can even put in a coupon, website address, telephone, or anything else to help encourage your customers to buy your products.
