Why pricing products is key to your marketing
When you price your product, think about everything. Literally. Think about how much other products like yours sell for. Think about inflation. Think about how much it cost you to make the product. Think about how much profit you want. Think about how much profit is reasonable. Think about how much people will be willing to pay. Think about how much people want to pay. The list goes on and on. When your product is priced right it sells. When it is priced perfectly, is sells even more. If your sales are dropping, think about lowering your price. It will probably drive up sales, and eventually give you an even larger profit than when it was selling for a higher price. When you are marketing your product, you let your customers know what the price is. You shouldn't be embarrassed about your price unless it is too high. By letting your customers know exactly how much things are, it helps them to realize that you aren't pricing it too high but at a reasonable price. If you do lower your price, make sure you advertise it. People don't usually realize a product is at a lower price unless it is pointed out to them. By advertising the lower prices, you will let people know about the product but also about how low the price is. Remember, you can always place your product on sale too. Like a buy one get one free deal. Customers love it when a product goes on sale. If they like the product enough they will buy it again and again. They will also recommend it to their friends. A recommendation is one of the best ways to get your product sold. People rely on their friends to tell them correct things about what they buy, so your customers will rely on their friends. When the product isn't on sale anymore, customers still tend to buy the item. They liked it so much the first time so they are coming back. Make sure that you are advertising the product still and not just when you put it on sale. Coupons are also a good idea and are generally the same sort of thing. However, make them easy to access and use. If a coupon isn't easy to use or access, most customers will just ignore it and forget about your product. By pricing your product at the perfect price, you can make it a product that is unforgettable when placed with good marketing. You want to sell your product. Sometimes selling it means lowering the price for a while or putting in on sale. Just because you don't make a huge profit your first year of selling the product doesn't mean it's not a success. It often takes several years for a product to become extremely well known and loved but these tips will help make sure that it becomes something a customer has to have.
