Airline credit cards - good idea
So you are a small business and you are trying to make decisions for your company. For small business, the decisions you make are very important, and can effect whether or not you stay in business in a big way. More so than if you were a big business. Big businesses can afford little losses where as small business cannot. Little things mean much more for small businesses than they do for big businesses, as the impact is much greater (though that is not to say big business should be careless). One thing that many small businesses wonder about is whether or not they should us an airline credit card. Airline credit cards can be very good for certain people in certain situations. But are you one of those people? If you want to know whether or not to use an airline credit card you will need to examine yourself and see if it is best for your situation. Do so by doing the following:
In order to get an airline credit card you need to have great credit already established. Otherwise they could charge you a lot more money than otherwise, and thus a seemingly good idea turns into a bad one. Getting an airline credit card and doing well with it has a lot to do with the credit that you have already established as they can charge you a lot of money if the see you have bad credit. So, if you have bad credit, you should probably wait until it improves. If you have bad credit and you still think that an airline credit card would benefit you then you will probably want to work on fixing your credit before you apply for one; you do this by using and paying off other credit cards. Learning where your credit needs improving, and possibly hiring professional help to get your credit score where it should be. If you are planning on getting an airline credit card then you will want to be sure that you are actually going to be using the miles. Do you travel a lot? If you barely ever travel, why would you want an airline credit card? If you have to travel a lot for your business, and airline credit card would probably be a great decision as it eliminates some of the costs associated with travel. You will also want to make sure that you spend a lot of money on credit cards. If you are not spending a lot of money on it then you will not get a lot of miles and it will be pointless. You have to be sure that you make all your payments on it and that you pay them off at the end of the month. If you have an airline credit card you are going to want to put as much money on it as you can. If you do this and you are sure to pay it off, you will build up a lot of miles and you will also have great credit history established. That is why it is so important to ask yourself if you have the necessary discipline that it takes to use a credit card and pay it off at the end of every month. A credit card can be a slippery slope to disaster if you spend more than you can pay off at the end of each month. You never want to spend more on your credit card than you have in the bank. You will want to only spend what you have. If you do not, then you could get into debt and your rates could go up. It is important that you plan well and budget well. If you do it would help you out a lot. You would establish great credit and you would earn a lot of miles. If you are considering getting an airline credit card and you know you will use it a lot and be smart with it, then it is probably a great idea to get one. Only you can answer the question if it is a good idea or not, because you are the only one who can honestly say whether or not you have the necessary discipline to use it wisely.
