If you are just getting started in starting your small business one of the best places to go for help is the Small Business Association, or the SBA for short. The SBA is designed to provide you with support through numerous resources and experts on every aspect of owning and running a small business. Most states have their own SBA chapter, but if your state does not have one you can use the national SBA to help you get started in opening a small business. No matter if you use the state's SBA or the national SBA you are going to have to pay a small membership, which many small business owners finds pays for it because of how much help the SBA provides small business owners with.

Here are the steps you will need to follow to get help from the SBA to start your own small business.

Step one:
You are going to need to join either the state or national Small Business Association. You can gain access to the federal government's website at no charge and they can provide you with all of the information that you are going to need about joining the SBA in your state or at the national level.

Step two:
Once you have joined the SBA you will be able to use them for all sorts of different information. The only catch is that you are going to have to know what it is you are looking for. The SBA can provide you with information on small business accounting, tips for starting your own business, choosing a name for your business, and many others topics.

Step three:
Go to the frequently asked questions section of the federal government's SBA website. The section will answer all of the questions that you might have about starting your own small business. However, you need to keep in mind is that the SBA will only provide you with information on how to start a business, they do not provide you with any type of financing or anything else, all they do is provide you with the resources you can use to get the things you need to start your business.

Step four:
The main thing that people are concerned with when it comes to starting their small business is how they are going to finance their small business; most people are going to need to apply for some type of financing, which you will not be able to get through the SBA. All that the SBA does is provide you with the resources that you need for financing your business and they will offer a guaranty to the lender that is financing your loan. But you need to make sure you meet the requirements for funding in order to get the guaranty by the SBA.

Step five:
The next thing that you are going to need to do is look into what papers need to be filed in order to start your small business. Different areas require different permits and licenses to be filed with the state and the city. The SBA website will be able to tell you what applies for your area and can provide you with help in filling out the forms.

The most important thing to remember is that the SBA is there to help you start your small business. This means that if you have any questions, even if you cannot find the answer on their website, you can contact them to get help in finding the answer.
