How to file invoices
There are different ways to accomplish this. The main thing is really as simple as keeping up with each invoice and tracking them all the way to completion.
Invotrack: http://invotrak.com/ BIZ-E 1.0: This is a free download of a program that makes filing invoices easier and more automated. http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Business/Accounting_Tools/BIZ_E_Download.html There are also standard database programs and simple filing systems of alphabetized files that will work efficiently for invoice filing. The main thing is going to be to make sure that this process is kept current and updated. That way you are not losing good information or money that is unclaimed. There are also things that can be done in the filing system to make sure that accuracy is a main key factor. This will help prevent money from being lost or uncollected. The address, name, and information on the file and invoice need to be correct. You will want to make sure that any errors in an invoice are corrected and then a copy of that invoice sent to the customer for payment, or refund. Using a healthy does of accuracy, consistency, and organization will save your business money, time and hassle. If you have ever tried to track and file invoices that have sat around for a month, you know what I am talking about. It is a much easier job to do in 30 minutes per day, then if you were to save it up and it takes hours. There will be lost information that can also lead to lost money. Loss money can equal to a sadly ran business and loss of profit. Rate This Post
