Opening a small business
If you don't really know anything about what you are going to be selling, or don't have any experience in that field, get some. Get hired at a local store that will be doing something similar to what you will be doing. For example if you are going to be owning a clothing store, get hired at a store in the mall like Macy's or Sears. You will be able to get some experience. If you can, get hired by a smaller store so that you are closer to your boss than you would be in a larger store. This will give you the chance to learn from them and ask questions. When you start a business there is a lot involved. The government has an agency that will actually help small business owners get started and keep them going. It is called the Small Business Administration. They have tons of offices around the country where you can get help for free or almost free. Check with them to see what they think about an idea or what they think about your business plan. It is a great way to get help that you will really need.
