One of the most important things that you will need as a small business owner is a computer. A computer will be good for all sorts of things. You can have your filing system on your computer. Computers are a good way to file your documents and it saves on a lot of space. You can do all of your finances on your computer if you purchase a program specific to business finances. You computer will could be a good way to keep in touch with clients potential clients, your bank, and other venders that your business might associate with.
If you choose to have a dial-up internet connection and a fax machine you will need a phone and a phone line. Your phone will also be helpful when you need to call people from work. You customers will also be able to call the business when they need too. You should consider getting several different phone lines, because you will find that you will have several different uses for them. Make sure that you also get a messaging system so that when customers do call you they can leave a message. Depending on the type of business you have you will need different items, some items will be the same as other businesses like; a computer, fax machine, copier, telephone, printer ect. But let's say that you are running a counter top business where you build and install counter tops. For that business you are going to need all of the tools necessary to make your product, and you are going to need transportation to get the product to the home it is going into.
