If you are running a business one of the most important things that you are going to need to do is to keep your business up to date. To many people this can seem like a rather daunting task because there is just so much to do to keep everything up to date, but the good news is that with the new technology that is available this task is not nearly as hard as it looks because there are many things that require nothing from you, all you have to do is set up the automatic updates and let it go from there.

Difficulty rating: Easy to Moderate

Step one:
The first thing that you are going to need to do is to make sure that your operating systems on your computers are up to date. This is a simple process because all you need to do is go to the Windows Update section on your main menu or something similar if you are using a different operating system. These up dates can be set up to download and install automatically.

Step two:
The next thing that you are going to need to do is to make sure that your applications are up to date. These can be done automatically as well if you take the time to set them up. But you are going to want to make sure that all of your applications are updated on a weekly basis. This includes virus software, firewalls and any other applications that you have.

Step three:
The next thing that you are going to want to do is to make sure that all of your drivers are updated; basically your drivers are going to be for your printer, graphics card and other hardware like that. These don't need to be updated as often as applications because these updates are not as common. If you are using Windows as your operating system you can update most of your drivers from the Windows update page. Or you can check the manufacturer's website for driver updates.

Step four:
The next thing that you are going to want to do is to review your website and make sure that it is up to date. Many times people don't think of updating their website because it is a small portion of their business. But you need all aspects of your business to be in sync with one another and this includes your website you don't want to sell out dated items online and the new items in the store. You should check your website and update it on a weekly basis.
