It is a new age as high tech has become a part of the world of parenting. There is a lot of challenges when it comes to being a parent, and today's technology, can make those challenges easier to deal with.Today there is wide variety of technology items that can make being a parent a little less challenging. If you are looking to simplify parenting or want to give new parents a great gift, here are high tech gadgets that make parenting easier-

  • Baby monitor-It all starts with being able to keep an eye on the baby. Old style baby monitors featured only audio, and sometimes if you lived in the right neighborhood, you could end up listening in on your neighbor's phone conversations. Today, baby monitors offer a lot more features. You can find baby monitors that connect to the internet, have hi-def pictures, offer sensors for movement, night vision and even offer a thermometer, for the nursery. For a truly high tech experience, there are baby monitors that have cameras that are Ethernet-ready. This means that you can hook them up to the internet, for off-site viewing.
  • Night lights-Once the baby is little older, then a night light might be needed. Not to long ago, parents had to be satisfied with simply plugging a bulb into a socket. Today, there are night lights that work even if there is a power failure! These high tech nightlights have automatic settings that mean that they are sensitive to changes in light and dark. Some night lights even have activated sensors, for those little ones, who either sleepwalk or tend to wander in the night. Using a nightlight like this means that parents can sleep a little easier, meaning a better night for everyone.
  • Rear facing cameras on cars-It isn't long before even new parents find themselves constantly on the go. However, even with all the media attention, many parents forget what a danger; a car poses to a child. If you drive a larger vehicle, with a high profile (like an SUV) you should consider installing a rear facing camera. Studies have shown that most rollover accidents, sadly happen when a parent is backing up in their own driveway and does not see their child. In addition to placing a rear facing camera, there are also high tech sensors that will make sure that nothing (car, toys, bikes etc.) is blocking your way, as you back up. Best of all these rear facing cameras are both affordable and easy to install.
  • Personal GPS tracker-Before you know it your little one that hung on your knee has grown up and is out the door to school and play. Today, there is technology that will let parents know where their kid is located at all times. When the personal GPS tracker is activated, parents can keep track of their child on the internet. These trackers can be put into phones or are small enough to be tucked into a backpack. Some parents use these types of devices, inside the car; a teenager drives, so they can monitor driving activity.
  • Internet trackers-While the internet can be a great benefit, to your child, many parents are also realizing that it can pose significant danger to their child. While parental controls do exist on many internet browsers, they are not 100% effective in keeping kids out of sites that are not age appropriate. In order to help combat the dangers of the internet, there are several programs that you can load on your computer. Then when your child is browsing the internet, if they enter a website that is not approved, you will receive a notification. This notification usually comes through text or an email.
