How do I change my MSN Hotmail alternate email address?

How do I change my MSN Hotmail alternate email address? This is a great question, especially because of the Internet age that we live in.There are so many chances for people to get a hold of your personal information through the Internet. There are also a lot of ways that people can get a hold of your email address, including your alternate email addresses. If someone gets a hold of your alternate email address and password, then he or she can start sending emails out from your address and that can obviously really screw up a lot of things for you and everybody that you know.

So you want to change your MSN Hotmail alternate email address, for some reason or another.Perfectly understandable. So what do you do?You go into your MSN Hotmail email account and try to change your alternate email address. There's just one problem. You can't find the information anywhere. You can't figure out how to do it.It just plain and simple doesn't tell you how.

To explain how you can change your MSN Hotmail alternate email address, something needs to be explained. When you signed up for your MSN Hotmail account, you didn't just sign up for Hotmail. You signed up for an MSN (MicroSoft Network) account. So you really signed up for a MSN Passport. The MSN Passport is one account that lets you access the number of different MSN services that are out there. So your passport account gets you into Hotmail. It gets you into MSN Instant Messenger.

You can log in to the MSN news page and get special shopping deals, etc. etc.The complication comes from the fact that Passport hasn't quite lived up to the original vision of MSN's founders.People just really aren't using Passport for all of these different websites that they can use it for.People who sign up with MSN basically only use MSN for Hotmail and for Instant Messenger. So MSN is slowly moving away from the term Passport.

Yahoo does sort of the same thing. When you sign up for a Yahoo account, you're not just signing up for the email address and account. You're signing up for a whole bunch of things. You can access Yahoo Music, and more. You have to set up a Yahoo account if you want to join a Yahoo group, though that Yahoo account doesn't necessarily get you a Yahoo email address. So Yahoo's a little bit more confusing in that way than MSN.

But back to the original question. How can I change my MSN Hotmail alternate email address?Well, it's actually really easy. You just go to MSN Account Services. The website address for MSN Account Services is https://accountservices.msn.com .Once you get inside MSN Account Services, the whole process is a piece of cake. You can change your MSN Hotmail alternate email account. You can cancel any paid services that you have through MSN.

You can change your secret password question through MSN Account Services.Once you log in (using your MSN Hotmail username and password), you simply click on the link that says Change My Alternate Email Address. Then you change it to whatever it is that you want. It's that simple.

If you want to sign up for MSN Services, from Hotmail to Hotmail Plus to MSN Premium, or if you want to sign up for Entertainment services, like Xbox Live, Windows Media Player, or MSN Video, or if you want MSN Encarta Premium, MSN Mobile, MSN TV, MSN Dial-up or High Speed Internet Service, or if you want to use the different Instant Messenger services that MSN offers, like Windows Live Spaces or MSN Web Messenger, go to the Microsoft Online Services page at https://join.msn.com.
