My hotmail sign in doesn't work, how do I fix it?

Nothing is more frustrating than needing to access your e-mails and not being able to do so.People frequently use their electronic messaging systems for conveying important and time sensitive information.Not being able to access this information that can affect your job, family or health can cause a great deal of stress.

For those with a hotmail account, the developers and system supporters have come up with several ways for you to trouble shoot your computer and corresponding system to fix whatever problem you may be experiencing with as little delay as possible.
Sometimes your hotmail sign in will not work and you will be given an "Invalid Password" message. Here is what you do...

1. Make sure that your caps lock key is off.Hotmail passwords are case sensitive.This means that if you have the incorrect letters capitalized in your password, the system will not recognize the password as a correct match.
2. Make sure that as you enter your hotmail login/e-mail address that you do so completely.Make sure that you include the "@hotmail.com"or "@msn.com" portion of the user name.
3. If you have made any changes to the password of login of your account you must allow the system at least 24 hours to update itself.Sometimes this change can happen in less time.
4. Make sure that you are using the correct hotmail ID that matches your password.Those with multiple accounts or e-mail accounts with different carriers can sometime mistakenly use the wrong log-in information.
5. If you have forgotten your login ID you can search for your ID online by choosing that option on the login page.
6. If you're still having problems, and you think that it may be related to your password, you can change your password by following the instructions after clicking the "change password" option on the login page.

If you are sure that you are entering both your login name (e-mail address) and your password correctly, try following these suggestions...

1. Hotmail is powered by Windows Live ID which has times when it is temporarily out of service.If this is the case you will receive a message indicating so.
2. Make sure that your problem is not with your internet source by checking to see if you have access to other types of login accounts.
3. If you haven't used your Hotmail or MSN e-mail address for a long time (usually more than a year), it may be deactivated. If your account is deactivated, visit the Hotmail registration website to open a new account.If you are concerned about your ability to access e-mails form a long forgotten account you may visit the Windows Live ID website to request new credentials.
4. Make sure that you have configured your browser to allow cookies (A small text file, created by a website that stores information on your computer. For example, your preferences when visiting those sites.)If your browser doesn't allow cookies, you can't sign in with your Windows Live ID sponsored hotmail information.
5. If you are still unable to sign in to your hotmail account you can complete a form provided in the help section of the log in page to contact the e-mail support team.Personalized attention form the website provider can be given here.This may not be the fastest way to find a solution to your problem but it is worth a try.If the network is not able to fix the problem and you are not willing to recreate an account, you are always free to choose another cost-free e-mail service provider.
