Are small business credit card rewards worth it?
Does the small business credit card come with an annual fee? Sometimes a rewards credit card will have an annual fee up to $100 and in rare cases even more. If the annual fee for the credit card is higher than any reward you may get then you would be giving the credit card company more of a reward then you are receiving. Pay attention to the offer for the small business credit card and if it tells you what the annual fee is if there is any. You can also call their 800 number if you are unsure to make sure you are not giving the credit card company a better reward then you are receiving. If you are getting the better deal than a small business credit card with rewards would be worth the investment. Another thing to do before applying for a small business rewards credit card would be to put a dollar value onto the rewards you can potentially receive. The rewards should be something you value and think of as sort of a free present. You should not think of the reward as something you have to spend a huge amount of money on in order to receive the reward. Think of what the reward would actually cost if you bought it brand new. You should do some research to figure out how much money you have to spend to get the reward item that you want. In many cases you will actually be paying more for the item then if you paid cash. If you are looking at small priced rewards it may be worth having a small business rewards card. How much interest are you paying on the small business rewards credit card? Many rewards cards, even for a business, charge a much higher interest rate then any regular credit cards. Many credit card companies make a fortune off your high balances you may carry on your rewards cards. Many new small businesses may carry a balance during the first few years of opening. You may pay more interest in two years then you receive from a $25 gift card for your rewards. Pay attention to those rewards and how much you are actually paying in interest. If you carry a balance on your rewards credit card it most likely would not be worth having a rewards card for your small business. Are small business credit card rewards worth it? If your credit card does not charge an annual fee, you pay your balance in full each and every month, and you charge a lot to your credit card for your small business it would be very worth it. The rewards you get from using the credit card would be like receiving a free gift then. If you are planning on carrying a balance on your credit card it would not be a good idea no matter how good the rewards may seem. Search our site for more information: Rate This Post
