How to check (and fix) your company's credit rating
If you have a good credit report then banks will want to lend you money. They will see that you are responsible with money and that you pay it back when you should. They will know that you can be trusted with money because they will be able to view your past creditors and see how well you paid them back. They will decide a lot off of your credit report.
If you have a bad credit report then banks will be very hesitant to give you loans and such, if they give you them at all. If your credit is very bad then the bank will not want to loan you the money you need because they will not know whether or not you are actually going to pay it back. If it looks like you have done very badly in the past then they will not want to help you out now because they will think that you are not going to be smart with the money that they give you. Dun and Bradstreet rate most businesses' credit. They are a big, small business credit rating firm. If you go through them then they will be able to help you see your credit rating. If it is bad you will have to fix it, if it is good then you are on a great track towards success. You can also be on a great track towards success with a bad credit rating IF you start to take control of it and fix it so that it becomes much better. Once you apply for Dun and Bradstreet to rate your credit, if they do it for you, they will give you a DUNS number. This number is for you to give to creditors when you want to apply for credit. If will not only be a much easier way for them to check for credit but it is also a way for you to keep track of your credit and make sure you are staying on top of it. If you get behind or if it is bad to start off with then there is a way that you can fix it. That way is also provided through Duns and Bradstreet. They can help you to fix your credit report and they can provide you with advice so that you get it good. It is not that hard to start establishing good credit. To establish good credit you want to have some business credit cards and other credit things. You want to make as many purchases as you can off of these credit cards. The more money you put on them the better. The trick is that you need to be sure that you also do not spend what you do not have. This will just get you into deeper trouble. Budget each month and always make sure that you are only spending the money that you have. Then always make sure to pay off the credit cards at the end of the month. If you keep doing this and always budget exactly and stay on top of it then you will be able to start establish very good credit. Once you have good credit you can go about life and your business duties and do much better because you can be confident that you are a trusted business and that people will be willing to work with you.
