Stress that is being caused from the office can be controlled and you can help your companies to be more productive and to increase their morale. Stress is not easy to manage but with the right steps you will be able to easily manage it and you will see an increase in productivity.

Find the problem
As a manager, you have a job to investigate the company and find out what the problem is. Sit down with your employees and talk to them about their stress levels and gain insight into what is causing stress to occur. Look for the symptoms of stress which is typically depression and erratic mood swings. Notice that stress inside the office is often caused from deadlines and unrealistic goals and expectations. Stress outside the office is much harder to control as it is caused from financial stress and family situations.

Figure out a solution

To start reducing the stress load by sitting down with employees and going over the going over the goals and deadlines that you have laid forth for them. Talk to them about their workloads and if they feel like they have too many things on their plate and they are unable to accomplish them. As you work with the employees, it will be much easier to find ways to cut out the excess stress in their lives so they aren't overwhelmed and feeling burdened at work. When employees come into the office and dread their jobs, you know there is a big problem.

Reduce the stress

After reducing the workloads of the employees, there are other things you need to start doing to keep the stress levels down. Consider adding an on-site fitness center where your employees can go to wind down and relax. How about providing them with some things at their desk that will be able to help them out such as listening to relaxing music, offering better lighting that mimics the sunlight, implement daily yoga or meditation time. Make this time mandatory for the employees to come in and lie down for at least 15 minutes in a dark room and listen to relaxing music. This is a great way to reduce stress in the middle of the day and to help them recharge their energy to get back to work for the rest of the day.

Give your employees an extra break during the day. When employees have 5 minutes to head over to their friend's desk and talk and drink coffee can keep them grounded and stress free. Employees need to connect with each other and they need to laugh and it will make a significant difference in helping to reduce the stress load in the office. Offer time off for holidays and offer an extra day if you can for Christmas break. Employees need to have time off to spend with their families and just to have time away from the office. It will make them appreciate you as an employer and it will provide them with a stronger desire to work for your company.

An office of cheer
When your staff is upbeat, they are happier and tend not to have as much stress. Work hard on making your office one where your employees feel accepted and appreciated. Do your best to have a happy attitude that will radiate to your staff and will make them feel better. When you work hard to make the office relaxed and comfortable, you can help to get rid of stress and improve the overall health of your employees.
