What does your endocrine system do for your body and how can you focus on keeping it healthy? Your endocrine system is in charge of hormone excretion and you must take good care of it as it can cause serious health problems like diabetes or even hyperthyroidism. The endocrine system allows puberty to occur and it can also play a role in male and female fertility as well.

The endocrine system is in charge of 8 major glands in the body. These glands are responsible for creating and releasing hormones into the body. The hormones are chemical messengers in the body and they are in charge of many things from sexual function to reproduction, mood, proper metabolism, and your bodies growth and development. When the endocrine system is not cared for correctly it can lead you to have a hormonal disorder like hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is when your blood sugar gets too low and you notice that you continue to have episodes of dizziness, tiredness, fatigue, and other issues. If you do not get sugar into your body right away to hurry and increase your blood sugar, you could potentially pass out from hypoglycemia. Hormones that are part of the endocrine system also aid in fighting infection. Your body needs to have it's hormones properly balanced to prevent diabetes and other concerns. When you are under a great deal of stress and you have many head colds that wipe out your immune system, your endocrine system may feel the sting of this as well.

To help your endocrine system remain healthy you need to understand what diseases and things may run in your family. You may know that your family has a history of diabetes and it is important to manage your diet and lifestyle habits in an effective manner in order to prevent it from developing in your body. There are other things such as endrometriosis that can also occur due to a hormonal imbalance.

Eating a healthy diet is one of the best things you can do for your endocrine system. Some of the best things youcan do for your body is to increase your intake of vegetables that contain many vitamins such as Vitamin A, C, D, E, and K. Your body needs these vitamins to make your entire body healthier. They are also helpful in preventing things that may occur with diabetes like kidney failure and even blindness. Work with your doctor to develop a healthier diet program which will aid in keeping your endocrine system healthier.

One of the other things that can really take it's toll on your endocrine system is stress. You need to reduce your stress load or it will create an overproduction of hormones in the body. This will make your body end up having problems with many organs like your kidneys. It can also lead to problems sleeping. To help manage stress you want to not only cut down on your workload and things that are causing stress but you also need to make time for exercise. Exercise is one of the best ways to strengthen your entire body and to keep it healthier. Do an exercise program that allows you to get at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise each day to help your endocrine system remain healthy. You also need to focus on getting at least 8-10 hours of good rest each night in order to manage your stress levels and to give your organs time to rest and relax as well.

Malfunctions in the endocrine system can be dangerous so you must focus on keeping it healthy. Speak to your doctor yearly to go over your health and to see if there have been changes you need to worry about.
