Making Small Business Insurance Affordable

books30364900.jpg
For employers and employees alike, insurance is the number one concern and the highest cost item on the agenda.Unfortunately, health insurance inly looks to get more expensive as America grows overweight and chronic conditions create a massive pile up in emergency rooms and hospitals everywhere.Because America believes that capitalism is the best way to regulate everything that can be bought or sold including things that will keep people from dying, very few people are discussing ways to prevent health insurance from skyrocketing and looking into ways to get people and the system that created them to change.

However, for a small business looking for ways to make insurance affordable, this is an important step.Other steps may be looking into the local Small Business Association or creating a small business consortium that works together to create an economy of scale for insurance for everyone involved in the businesses in the consortium.
Rather than accept the system the way it is, it is important for businessmen everywhere to challenge the way the system operates.Prevention is the best and cheapest cure.Unfortunately, there is no money in it, so pharmaceutical companies look for ways to treat symptoms rather than cure disease. If they can find someone living with a chronic condition that needs to take a hundred dollars' worth of medication a month or more, the company will be profitable for years to come. With some HIV positive patients taking medications that cost over $1000 a month, there should be no wonder that a cure hasn't been found. It just wouldn't be profitable.
It is hard for one person or one small business to change the system drastically on his, her or its own.Instead, in order to massage the system, the small business needs to look at what other businesses it can partner with to create purchasing power.Maybe it can partner with suppliers or other businesses in the neighborhood. The more people that get involved in the bidding process, the lower the insurance premium that they can demand. This type of consortium has worked well for some small business.
In some communities, there is an office for the Small Business Association. This is a place where entrepreneurs can get help with their business and find resources that will help them develop. The people who work in the SBA may have information on where to get affordable insurance for the business.
Of course, small business insurance questions are not related to just health insurance. There are concerns about insurance against theft, fire, flood damage and in some areas, earthquakes and possible looting and rioting activities. For some small businesses, the purchasing of insurance to protect the business can be enough of an expense to make the business not worth it.The insurance doesn't seem to provide anything but a bet against the business and the conditions it will find itself in.Unfortunately, being without insurance is a bad move when it comes to protecting an investment.
Small business owners need to get creative in order to make insurance affordable.Whether it is the form of a consortium or from the Small Business Association, insurance can be made affordable under the right circumstances.Beyond making insurance affordable, it is up to every small business to understand how to be healthy and to make those healthy habits a part of the new business lifestyle.By staying healthy, small business owners can work as long as they need to make their businesses a success. They can then pass those habits to their employees who will be the ones that will change the system through health and compassion.
