Replace the fatty morning foods with healthier options. Team meetings often involve sugary sweets. Bring whole grain crackers with calcium-rich cheese and vegetable-filled sandwiches. Skipping the donuts and muffins will help keep the office in shape.
Work parties should also be laden with healthy options. Fancy vegetable platters and fruit creations can serve as centerpieces, rather than baked pastries. Fatty foods clog arteries and end up sending people to the hospital. Consider serving non-alcoholic drinks. Drunk driving and overdosing can begin at a work party. These things reflect poorly on the company. Prevent kidney and liver problems by forgoing the alcohol for sparkling cider and virgin drinks. They are no less fun when it comes down to it. Provide apples, natural juices, salads, and sandwiches instead. These items are classier for the workplace and better for the body. Partnering with a local food store to fill the machines with fresh foods may also be an option. Look into the possibilities. Good food can do a lot to boost morale.
3. Skip The Sodas
Some workplaces, like call centers, offer free refills of soda pop or hot cocoa. The amount of sugar in hot cocoa is too much to burn while sitting at a desk. Soda is bad for body organs. Help to prevent diseases by offering free water and low calorie, low sugar drinks instead. Your coworkers will thank you for years to come.
Coffee is also something to watch out for. Large amounts of coffee can lead to problems with certain organs. Caffeine is an underrated drug. It quickens the speed of the heart. Limit the amount of free coffee allowed at the office.
4. Prevent Food Poisoning
Sometimes people like to bring leftovers from work parties to the office for days to come. Often, party food is left out past the time of contamination. Meats, cheeses, and other dairy are affected by being out of refrigeration too long. Set a firm policy for throwing out party food. This goes for snacks and meals served at meetings, as well. A tight grip on things like this can prevent epidemics of nasty illnesses.
5. Give Good Gifts
When it comes time for incentives, small bonuses, or holiday gifts, opt for healthy ones. Give gift cars for sporting goods stores, subscriptions to health magazines, and gym memberships. Gift certificates for local produce markets and healthy-food eateries are always appreciated. They have a special, homey touch. This keeps money in the local economy, boosting your business, and provides encouragement for healthier employees as well.
