Helping Employees Avoid Burnout
The best way to avoid becoming overwhelmed or too busy is by creating a schedule. Making a schedule can help a hard worker get a lot of their mind. A psychologist would recommend that a person write their thoughts down when they are feeling sad or overwhelmed and making a schedule is the same idea. If the tasks are written down and prioritized the person has less to worry about remembering. The best way to prioritize the list is by having the most important task at the top and the time it needs to be done adjacent to it. Having too much to do in a little amount of time is what causes the most stress. The things that need to be done immediately should be done in a timely fashion with a little time left over to relax. Don't make a commitment that can't be fulfilled by the time it is promised. This will create a subconscious stress that the worker will not even be aware of. The mind will be focused on other tasks that need to be done in the future in the process of completing the task at hand. Every task should have their time to be focused on. Multi-tasking too many things at one time can create a feeling overwhelming feeling and cause a burn out. Imagine being the employer and being outside the box trying to see if an employee is having a burn out. There are many things that can be looked at and done if a worker is on the verge of a burn out. As an employer the tasks that are given to the employee may be a bit too much. Instead of saying that is the responsibility they applied for try a more calm approach and ask them do they need a bit of a break.
