The reason for this is because a small business may have certain characteristics that a big company has but might not have as much of an advantage as far as marketing and advertising. The first tip is making sure that your small business is organized. There are a lot of things that you will need to take into account. For example your store might be organized but your books and finances might not be. This is something that is very important. You will want to make sure that you have good books and good records of receipts. You will want to make sure that you have some type of filing system so that you know where to find all of your receipts. You will also want to make sure that you are organized when it comes to the processes you use to interact with clients or customers along with vendors. The reason for this is if people see that you are not organized they will be less willing to do business with you.

The second tip is to be more perceptive. This will help you to be able to see what other small businesses are doing and what you can do to incorporate different processes into your own business. This will also help you to be a better problem solver and be able to look at your company and see what is not working and what is and then be able to help look for a solution.

The third tip is your view. In the business world there are four types of viewpoints that people take. They are the environmental view, the marketplace view, the project view, and the measurement view. Depending on what type of small business you have and what type of products you have will determine which view you use the most. Using different views will help you be able to achieve your goals by adjusting your actions because you were able to identify critical elements.

The fourth tip is determining what your driving force is. The best way to figure this out is to take a look at your mission statement or determine what your businesses vision is. Once you have been able to identify that you will be able to start laying out the ground work for what you want people to see when they look at your company.

The fifth tip is to determine what your businesses position is by using all of the tips above. The way you can do this is by making sure that your ideal position includes what type of condition your small business is in, how you can make it more productive, and how your small business can fit into the market place and be needed. Once you have been able to figure out all of these you will be able to decide how your business will be able to exist now and in the future and be able to decide what type of skills your business is going to need to take your business into the future.

It all comes down to how much research you want to do and how much effort you want to put into your small business as to how successful you will make your small business using strategic thining.
