What role will they fill?
When you are hiring someone, it is critical to think about the role that they will fill in the company. Does this person need to have a particular type of personality in order to fill this role? You need to consider this as you meet with different candidates.
Use quality questions
You need to have a well-rounded mix of questions. They need to come in a variety of things from the most important questions about the persons experience and education to their personality type. Create a good list of questions that you can refer to during the interview process so you can find out the right type of information from the people you are interviewing for the job.
Ask questions that deserve long answers
People like to get in and out of interviews quick so you often see them rush the questions into yes and no categories. You never want to do this. Your best shot is to ask questions that will really cause the person to think and will get them to provide you with specific answers .This is a great way to get to know their personality and to see how quickly they can think on their toes! If they seem vague or they talk in circles, try to follow up with the same question or you can easily see that this person isn't the best fit for the job.

What type of programs and things will the employee be expected to use? Try to find out what programs they are familiar with so you can see just how much knowledge they have and what you are working with here. You really need to become familiar with the software and things that the company uses so you can give off the impression that you are knowledgeable with it!
Don't interview alone
To avoid legal issues, never interview alone. The best thing you can do is to interview with an HR representative or another employee in the room. This way you can prove that you are not discriminating or having other issues during the interviewing process.
In order to get people to consider the job and to find the right person, you need to make sure that you are being clear and upfront with them. Be honest about the pressures and stresses that the job entails. The more the person is aware of ahead of time, the easier it will be for them to understand if this is a job they want to consider pursuing.
