Getting Ranked On Google

How do the companies on Page 1 of the search results land this coveted space? How does Google do their ranking system and what can you do in order to get your website ranked with Google? Google has search engine spiders that crawl the web to search for particular keywords and phrases. They also scan sites for other things such as content and links. When they find all of the information they are looking for, the search engine spiders will report their data to an analytical program that Google uses to determine your Page Rank. The analytics that Google uses are always changing. This is important to marketers as you need to know what Google wants from you in order to create a website that can be on the top of the search engine listings and will be able to generate the type of traffic you need in order to make a difference.

Google wants to be considered one of your customers! When you are doing market research information you will find out information that the customers want and use keywords that they use in order to find your site. You will also look for topics that are interesting to them and typically will create web pages that have this information on it. Since you are catering to the customers so much it also makes sense that you have to cater to Google as well. What does Google want from you? They want keywords and phrases placed strategically on your website in certain locations and then used in a perfect density. You need to write for Google and for the customers in order to get the traffic and the ranking.

When you are able to use keywords and to place them in the right areas, Google will be able to rank your site and they will determine your worthiness for the top page or not. The keywords that you use should relate to the domain name that you have along with the other web pages that you have created. The title tags of those sites need to center around certain topics and they need to be able to have the right keywords in there. The density is usually about 1-3% per every 100 words. This way you aren't flooding the website with a bunch of keywords as this makes the content hard to read for the customers.

Google will also rank you based on how much time is spent on the site. Do people click on your site and stay there for awhile or do they click and immediately click off the site as they see it does not offer them the valuable content that they are looking for? You need to be able to create stronger landing pages that will bring in the right traffic for your site, which allows you to keep your customers engaged on the site and allows them to refer your site to others.

To get your website ranked on Google you also need to make sure you are having links in and out of your website. People want to see you are linking to sources that are valuable to the information that they are reading. They don't want links to random places that are designed mostly to sell a product to them. You also need to ensure that the links coming into your site are from quality websites. This way it helps to show the search engines that you have important content and that you are really focused on creating a solid and credible website that provides customers with quality information and content.
