Depending on where your office is located will depend on what type of commuting problems you will have with your staff. If you are continually have staff members that are late due to commuting there are some things that you can do to help with them. Here are some ideas on how to handle commuting problems with your staff.

The first idea on how to handle commuting problems with your staff is to have them come at an earlier time or later time when the commute isn't s bad. For example if the commute is better for them to come in at 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. maybe give them an option of having them work 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will help your staff be happier because they are not spending so much time in traffic and it will help you to be happier because you are not always stressing because your employee is always late.

If your staff has lots of tasks that they can do from home have a day each week or every other week that they can do their work from home. This will help your employees to be happier because they are doing work but being able to kind of have a day off during the week and it will help you by not having to deal with your staff complaining about the commute.

The third idea on how to handle commuting problems with your staff is to find out which staff members commute the farthest and see if you can make their job a job where they can telecommute most of the time. If your business is ran mostly over the computer there are probably options that you have where people could actually telecommute and wouldn't have to come into the office unless they had to go in for different meetings or what not.

This will give people the opportunity to be able to sit in the passenger seat instead of always being the one in the driver's seat.

Let them know that you know they have to commute but the job starts at this time and they might have to leave their house a little earlier to get to the office on time but there are no special treatments for people that commute.
