There are so many types of manufacturing out there. Depending on what type of products you are manufacturing will depend on what type of production lines you may have. Having a great production line helps your manufacturing. If your manufacturing line is lacking you will end up losing money and probably end up losing a lot of your quality as well. The first scenario is a line where everyone is great at their assignment. This is something that probably does not happen a whole lot. But when it does you want to make sure that you do not change things up. The reason for this is if people are good at their jobs they will be able to make the production line move smoother with fewer mistakes. If there are fewer mistakes you are going to have less waste. Because of this you will be able to manufacturer more products in less time, which will end up making you more money. Also if you have less waste you will also save more money because that is materials that you do not have to replace as often.

The second scenario is machine down time. A lot of manufacturing plants have machines that need regular maintenance every few hours, or once a shift. Because of this employees have down time where they have nothing to do. Instead of having your employees stand around for 15 minutes not doing anything has them clean up the work area. This will not only help prevent accidents but will also help keep the work area clean which will help save time that might other wise be lost on having to take the time to look for certain tools.

The third scenario is making sure that you have certain productions in the right order. For example having the way certain products are put together might help improve not only quality but also the time it takes to put it together. You will want to make sure that you find the most efficient way to put each of your products together so that you can save your company money. You many need to try a couple of different ways before you discover what one is going to work the best for you. You may also want to have different people that you rotate every so often to different station so that your production lines stay on top of things.

The third scenario is quality assurance. You want to make sure that you have some type of quality assurance process in place. The reason for this is because you will end up spending more money and time fixing your mistakes after hand if you do not catch your mistakes early on. It will be especially bad if you have to redo a lot of the products that you have already done just because you haven't got a good quality assurance plan in place. You may want to think about getting a computer to help with your quality assurance. This is helpful because it can help catch mistakes the human eye may not be able to.
