Does outsourcing your manufacturing affect the economy

chair30393486.JPGOne of the biggest controversies in the current economy is if outsourcing your manufacturing has any kind of an effect on the economy. Some people believe that outsourcing your manufacturing is going to negatively affect the economy because it is taking jobs away from the economy. Those jobs could be given to other people, which could boost our current economy. Other people think that outsourcing your manufacturing is not affecting the economy because it is allowing manufacturing businesses to cut their costs, which means they are making a profit. If the manufacturing plant is making a profit that means they are going to stay in business so there will still be jobs available for people from this company.

There is no easy answer in determining if outsourcing your manufacturing is going to hurt the economy or not. The only thing that you can do is to make the best decision for your manufacturing business. To do this you are going to need to find out about outsourcing your manufacturing.

The first thing that you need to know about outsourcing your manufacturing is that in most cases it is a great way for your manufacturing business to reduce its overall costs. The reason for this is that when you outsource your manufacturing to different countries the labor rates are going to vary. In most cases, the labor rates are going to be lower so you will be saving money on labor. Another way that you are going to be saving on costs is through the cost of purchasing equipment and supplies because of the lower cost of goods overseas. Land is also going to be cheaper, so by purchasing property and building a new factory you can save on your overall costs, and as the years go by you will continue to save on the overall costs.

One thing that you will need to be aware of when it comes to outsourcing your manufacturing is that not all countries that allow you to outsource your manufacturing has the same rules and regulations as the United States. This can cause problems for you and can cost your manufacturing business quite a bit of money because you will need to provide training for your new employees. The reason you need to provide training for the new employees is that they will need to be brought up to date with the rules and regulations, including health and safety regulations that are followed in the United States because they will need to follow them. The reason they need to follow these regulations is because your business is incorporated in the United States, the only way to get around having to follow the United States regulations is to incorporate your business elsewhere and export your products into the United States.

Shipping is another obstacle that you will face when outsourcing your manufacturing overseas. If you are having to ship in your products, you will need to take into consideration the amount of time that it is going to take to get your product from one country to the next, so that you can schedule arrival dates for your products to distributors. When shipping though you will need to take into consideration any shipping delays that can arise. These shipping delays can cost your company money because you might lose customers if things are constantly late because it disrupts their business. By preparing for these delays ahead of time, you can still save money when outsourcing overseas. The best way to prepare is to extend the arrival date by a few extra days so that if any delay happens it might still make it on time.
