The first example is in your products you are manufacturing. If you are using lean manufacturing it means that you are not only using less many power to make a certain product but you are also using less money and have less waste. But you also have to remember you don't want your customer satisfaction to go down because you start using cheaper materials to save money on your products. A great way to save money is to try to find a wholesaler that is wiling to sell you the materials you need for your products for cheaper then what you are paying. There are a couple of ways that you can go about trying to find a better price. Some wholesalers will give you a better price because they don't have the middle man that they have to pay. Other wholesalers will make you buy in bulk. The more you buy at one the cheaper it is for you to buy. You will want to make sure that you pay attention and figure out which way you will save the most money. This will not only give you more of a profit but it will also make it so that your customers stay happy.

The second example is keeping things tidy. If you run a manufacturing plant and there is down time each day to fix machinery you might want to have your employees take time to clean up the work area. This will not only help with the cost of house keeping but it will also help with the extra time that it takes people to have to go find tools or dig through clutter to find the things they need. Plus if you are paying your employees hourly you don't want to have to pay them for time that they are just sitting around doing nothing.

The third example is your book keeping. There might be certain things that you are not keeping track of that you should be. This is why it is important to keep your books up to date so you know exactly where your finances are. There might be things that you didn't realize where an expense you don't need until you go over your books.

These are just a few of the examples of using lean manufacturing in a total quality management system. There are some methods that might work for other manufacturing companies that won't work for yours. Because of this you will want to make sure that you track each change you make and if you are not seeing a difference then you will want to try something else. This will help you to improve your manufacturing. You will also want to make sure that if you do find something that improves your manufacturing that you stick to it. It might be hard to get into a routine at first but you want to make sure that you stick to it so that it becomes a routine this will help you to start using lean manufacturing in a total quality management system.
