What you need to know about using six sigma in your manufacturing

2) The core focuses and concepts of six sigma: One of the core elements which Six Sigma focuses on is "stable operations," or to make sure that the consistent, measurable processes help to ensure what the customer will feel and see in the finished product. Another thing Six Sigma focuses on is process capability, meaning that is determines what your production process is capable of doing. Six sigma also focuses on what types of attributes and characteristics are going to be most important to the customer and target audience for your product. In other words, it helps to narrow the focus towards what things must be produced and projected with quality. Furthermore, six sigma examines defects and ways the company is failing to meet the demands of the customers. This idea is also tied into the focus on variation, or what the customer sees and feels in regards to the product and company. Finally, six sigma also focuses on designing how to meet the various wants and needs of a customer, particularly by looking at the process capability within the company.
3) The two main processes of six sigma: In order to improve an existing business, six sigma has an approach which is titled DMAIC. This word stands for DEFINE, MEASURE, ANALYZE, IMPROVE, and CONTROL. A relatively similar six sigma methodology called DMADV is also in place for new product or process designs. This word stands for DEFINE, MEASURE, ANALYZE, DESIGN, VERIFY. These are the two main processes that are used in six sigma.
4) The popular training methods for six sigma: There are many ways to train employees and even yourself for using six sigma. Because of its compatibility with lean manufacturing, the Six Sigma approach has spread across the world. Many online companies have six sigma training courses. The length and depth of the different six sigma courses can vary, and you will need to look for the one which seems to fit your company's needs the best. There are also live training courses which are located in various cities, if you would like to have a physical representative come to your workplace instead. There are different levels of training for the different roles and responsibilities within your workplace, and different six sigma training programs will cater to those different needs.
