When it comes to finding new customers there are a number of things that you need to do in order to attract them and to get them interested in your company. Promotional marketing is a great way to bring about attention to your company and to bring people in. Marketing promotional methods will come down to efficiency along with the value that you are offering. Since customers are the driving force behind the company, it is easy to see why so many organizations are using promotional marketing methods to try and make money. Promotional marketing methods include some of the following:

  • Discounts
  • Product giveaways
  • Marketing giveaways (such as mugs, pens, key chains, etc.)

Before creating a promotional marketing strategy for your company you need to be able to do some market research and to learn about the customers you are planning to reach. This way you will be able to know what type of people you are dealing with and the products that they like. Your next step is to then allocate a budget for promotional marketing in order to set the right targets.

In many instances promotional marketing is used when a company is preparing to launch a new product or when they are planning to attract new customers in some way. To mark it work you do need to focus on your budget and just how much you can afford to spend on promotional marketing.

As you are considering promotional marketing you will have two different types to work with, the push method or the pull method. These marketing methods are used to get the customers interested by either offering generous discounts for the company (the push method) or to use the pull method where you will focus on advertising the product in several different channels and create more awareness around them. Both work effectively and some companies feel better about one over the other. As you are using the promotional marketing methods you do need to look at what type of message you are sending out to the customer. If you are always discounting your prices you are simply telling people that you don't need to charge as much for that product in the first place or that it really doesn't have the same value that you are stating it does.

As you are dealing with various promotional marketing methods, here are some ofthe different methods that you can use:

  1. Advertising - you need to reach a large number of customers in a short amount of time and the best way to do this is by using advertising. Advertising will allow you to reach out to a lot of people by using several methods like print marketing, online marketing, TV, radio, etc. Study the different types of promotional marketing so you can determine if you are reaching the right audience.

  2. Contents and Giveaways - customers love to have free stuff and when the market is bad, they love it when a company offers them something for free. You should hold a content or giveaway of some sort in order to get people interested in your company. Winning a prize is a great feeling and it is one of the most attractive ways to use promotional marketing. You often can set up a display booth and get people coming up to the booth to learn about the products and then enter their name in a drawing where you can collect this personal information and start using it for future marketing needs. Use your display booth to offer free samples, this can also help you to inform the customer and get them to buy right away.

  3. Coupons - customers love discounts so why not send them some coupons and pamphlets to show them you are helping them to afford the things that they want?
