On the other hand, a bad sales team will create poor results with even a great product. Therefore the importance lies with creating a great sales team.

This needs to go along with a positive attitude about their job, and finally a want to help other people succeed.

Training the trainer with the right information will be easier if they have these qualifications listed. It is always better to have someone who is training with a great attitude and want to succeed.

  • Able to be comfortable with rejections
  • Eager to learn

  • Persistent but not pushy
  • Fantastic listening skills

After you have hired the right people for your sales team. Each of those people need to be the star. Each person needs to feel valuable, and important. The more important these people feel, the more they will want to succeed. This includes letting them learn that there is a responsibility to the position that they are in. This will help with culpability and responsibility to selling more products for the team.

Then you will want to set proper expectation. This needs to be clear and concise. Will they need to sell a specific number in a certain amount of days? Will they bonus from a certain quantity of the products sold. Each area of the expectations that are set for this specific team needs to be covered. Proper expectations set up the sales people for proper results.

After you have set up the idea of what is expected, it is time to train the sales team about the product, process, and positive reasons that a customer should purchase the product or service. This is important because the more knowledgeable the sales people are, the easier it will be for them to educate the customer. Knowledge is sales power.

There will need to be a constant coaching, and enthusiastic praise program set up. This will help the sales people know where they can improve. It will also make it more rewarding for the sales people to do well. We all love praise. Public praise is even better. If there is coaching that needs to be completed this should be done in private.

Team meetings on a daily basis will also help build a kick butt sales team. Contacting each agent on a regular basis to talk about what is going on, how well that they are doing etc, will help boost their attitudes. The biggest thing about sales is feeling great about the job you are doing.
