Newspaper circulation is dropping, what does that mean for your print marketing efforts

If you think you aren't getting a good return from newspaper advertising, the easiest way to find out is by cutting your newspaper or print ads and only focus on online ads. This way you will be able to see if any of your customers and sales have been coming from the newspapers or not.

Even though newspaper circulation is down doesn't mean you want to completely cut it from your budget. You will still gain exposure to your right target market if you are advertising in the right section. Although the message isn't going out to as many customers, getting in touch with your target market is vital to your business.

So if you are ready to give print marketing another try, there are some different things you can try to generate more revenue from the newspapers. Focus on the words you are using. You will get people to pay attention to your ad if it grabs their attention. Using the right type of words, you can easily generate the right type of attention for your company. So what type of words sell? Focus on action words or words that solve problems. People are always looking for "miracle cures" and things like this when they are shopping.

Focus on how you can help your customers. This is a wonderful way to help build your company's reputation and to make sure your customers are actually reading up about your company. The landing page you choose to market in the newspaper needs to be top-notch in order to convince your customers to buy your products or services. Showing them why your products have value will help to convince them why they need your company and what you can do for them.

Keep it simple. Print media doesn't have a lot of room to talk. You only have a limited space and you need to try and limit how much text you are putting in there as it will lead to clutter and makes it hard to pick out the right phone numbers and other things. By including simple website addresses, phone numbers, or an email address, you will get a better response rate from your customers.

Use coupons. A way to use newspapers and print marketing to their full potential is by using coupons. This way your customers will need to cut out the coupon and bring it in to use it. Coupons make them do something and they often leave the coupon on the refrigerator or a place where they will see it often and will remember to do something about it.

When a customer calls you or sends out an email in response to your newspaper ad, you need to act on it quickly. People like to "talk" to emails because it's easy and they don't have to deal with phone conversations so you need to hurry and respond to your emails if you are going to get your customers attention and to keep them interested in your company. Once a person contacts you and you have replied, send out another reply in a few days. Following up with leads within 48 hours is vital to keeping them and converting them to sales. A follow up process is important to your business and to keeping your customers happy and satisfied with your company.

Results from print marketing will only happen if you put in the effort to make them work. Take the time to design better newspaper ads and don't let leads dry up.
