When it comes to any type of electronic device we tend to buy products that we are familiar with. What this basically means is that we tend to buy products that we recognize and that we know we can trust. What this is called is brand name items. What many people think is that because it is made by a certain company that it is going to work better, last longer and basically outperform the cheaper no name brand of electronics. But what many of us are failing to see is that the item does not have to be a brand name for it to be a quality item. Many times you can find better deals, cheaper overall prices on no name televisions than you can find on name brand televisions. The reason for this is that the brands that have a brand name charge you, the consumer, a higher price just to buy the brand name product. They charge this higher price because they know that people are willing to pay that price for a brand that they know. But what we need to see is that many times the no name brands can compare nicely with the brand names and be a better deal.

Here is a look at some of the no name televisions and what they have to offer.

  • Vizio
    • Diagonal - 32 - 42 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1024 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - bright screen, reasonably priced, great image quality, the price and features is great when compared to other name brand televisions, which means that the price and features is comparable to brand name televisions
  • LG Electronics
    • Diagonal - 42 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1024 by 768
    • Cable card ready - yes
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - ports are easy to reach and identify, delivers great sound but it also delivers great image quality. But even though it is a no name television brand the price is as high as the brand name televisions.
  • ViewSonic
    • Diagonal -37 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1366 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - great picture, includes natural skin tones, attractive price, good buy for the features that you are receiving, one of the first televisions that ViewSonic has put out and passed numerous reviews with flying colors
  • AOC
    • Diagonal - 42 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1024 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - attractive and low price, but even with the nice low price the quality for this television is not the best. It would actually make a better conference room monitor than a television to watch.
  • Maxent
    • Diagonal - 42 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1024 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - HD plasma monitor, easy to use, poor image quality, menus are slow to display and have a slow response time
  • Norcent
    • Diagonal - 42 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1024 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - easy to use design, pleasing image quality, is simple to use, but many other models will offer even more features for the same price
  • Olevia
    • Diagonal - 37 inches
    • Resolution (pixels) - 1366 by 768
    • HD formats - 720p, 1080i
    • Other features - manual is only available on a CD but the color and image quality are a great deal for the price you are paying for the television

In looking at all of these no name televisions you can easily see that many of them offer the same features and the same sizes as each other. But what you might not be able to tell is that the prices vary greatly, a huge factor that goes into price is what kind of television you are going to buy. These brands of televisions are LCD televisions so they are going to be more expensive then your regular televisions but still you can see how they compare with name brand LCD televisions, many of these offer the same features that name brand televisions do.
