Video casting has a pro over pod casting in that video casting is video that has audio, and pod casting is just audio. Therefore it has more appeal because people like to see things not just hear them. Therefore, pod casting's con is that it is only audio, so less people will likely listen to it than would view the same material in a video cast.
Pod casting has a pro over video casting in that pod casting is more compatible with the portable devices. While there are a number of MP3 players that can play video casts, there are significantly more that can play a pod cast. So, the con of video casting is less people have the proper equipment to view a video cast on. However, both kinds require a computer for downloading or streaming, and you can view a vide ocast via the computer. Pod casts pro over video casts is that they are easier to make than video casts. With pod casting you make just an audio recording, video casts are both audio and visual. Obviously because video casting is the process of recording a video of some kind, if you do not have a digital video camera you have to use an MP4 encoder to make it a file compatible with your computer. You however need an RSS feed for both to make it viewable and streamable from your host site. Right now pod casts have the pro of being easier to distribute than video casts. So, the video cast con, not as many people are getting reached. Once you've made a pod cast, or in other words, an audio recording, you simply submit it to one of the pod cast directories, such as iPodder.org. The process for a video cast is much longer. Pod casts have the pro of ease of consumption, not only are more devices compatible with pod casts than video casts, the files are smaller, and thus there is less static and break up and they are easier to listen to. Video casting has the con of being larger files, thus the consumer needs faster speed internet and larger space for storage of the file.
