Eliminating wasted time with Lean Six Sigma

Combining the two together you are given a process known as Lean Six Sigma. Lean Six Sigma focuses more on increasing productivity through identifying the production inefficiencies.

3. Unnecessary movement
4. Faults in time management
5. Overproduction and underproduction
6. Over-processing
7. Production defects

When you have wastes like these within your company, you will end up decreasing the value of the product and your customers will end up paying more money due to the excess costs of each wasteful phase.

Once you are able to use lean manufacturing and improve your company, you will then turn to Six Sigma. Six Sigma was created by Motorola as a way to optimize your company's production process. Six Sigma will focus on measuring the number of defects that occur during the manufacturing process. The goal is to reduce your defect ratio to no more than 3.4 defects for every 1 million products that are produced. The goal of Six Sigma is to reduce or completely eliminate errors from the production process at all.

Combined with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma will help you improve the overall effectiveness of your manufacturing process and the overall operation of your business. When you combine the two processes, you will focus on eliminating waste and also adding value to the production processes.

The goal of Lean Six Sigma is to provide a better product for a lower cost. When you introduce steps to eliminate waste and you focus on improving the quality of your products and your organization, you will find it is easier for you to satisfy your customers and to run an effective organization.
