The first way that can cause lean manufacturing failure is not enough preparation. You have to prepare to become a lean manufacture. You can just decide one day to become a lean manufacture and think it will happen over night. It takes a lot of time and effort. You have to figure out what things cost to buy and how you can save while buying them for instance cutting out the middle man. The next thing you need to do is decide what areas you can afford to cut costs in and what areas you can't cut any more from.

The second way that can cause lean manufacturing failure is not having the appropriate training. This can be caused by not having the management trained right, or not having the right training tools. It can even be caused by leadership not getting things done and resolved.

The third way that can cause lean manufacturing failure is if you do not having a welled designed plan. If you do not follow up on your lean manufacturing things will start to get changed and stretched and your lean manufacturing might start to stretch and not be as effective which in return will cause failure.

The fourth way that can cause lean manufacturing failure is if your employees fail you. This can be done if your employees don't meet the expectations that are required of them, or they do not apply themselves. To avoid manufacturing failure give your employees praise and make them feel like they are part of the company and let them know that with out them the company wouldn't succeed. Make your employees feel needed.

The fifth way that can cause lean manufacturing failure is if you do not implement down time. For example if you have down time when machines are being switched over and your employees are just sitting down or talking you are loosing money. To avoid manufacturing failure during down time you should have them clean up their work areas and make sure everything is organized. This will help you save money not having to pay a housekeeping crew to come in and clean up people areas. It will also allow less time spent looking around for things because everything has a certain place and is organized.

The sixth way that can cause manufacturing failure is not being on top of the latest technology. You want to make sure that you have the best technology so that you can function and be ready for any situation that comes your way.

There are so many different ways that will cause lean manufacturing to fail. This will help you to forecast what products you will need in the future and how many.
