Creating a buzz for your products and your company is harder than many businesses may think. A well-designed web site and good customer service agents can help to generate a buzz, but there are several other things that will determine if your business is going to become successful. With that being said, there is no question why businesses spend millions of dollars on advertising and marketing each year.

This type of marketing is great because customers get excited about the products and they start word-of-mouth marketing. Reach your customers offline and online. Make sure they know what your web site domain is and where to quickly find more information about the new developments that are happening within the company. Always remain consistent with your marketing strategy. It is much easier for customers to associate your marketing pieces with the company if they all look alike.

The product you intend to market much be interesting and exciting to someone. While software that tracks employee's behavioral patterns may not be exciting to everyone, this could be an exciting solution for a company that is tracking their employee workplace accidents with an Excel file or an outdated system. Knowing who your target audience is has a great deal to do with the nature of the products and the type of buzz they will generate. Target industry-specific magazines and provide compelling press releases. This is a great way to get a story run about your new product and target your niche market.

Exciting products always generate a lot of buzz. So what happens if your product is mundane? Start marketing it to a local audience first like your network of family and friends. See if they start to talk about it and if the word gets back around to your company. This is a great time to use social media sites to your advantage. Release a bit of information on your daily feed to see if you have customers respond to it. If people start to respond, give them a little more information and look for ways to encourage them to talk about your product with others.

It always helps to get out there and market your product with your own mouth. Attend conferences, trade shows, fairs, and other events that are specifically related to your products. Take the time to talk to network and promote your new product. If you can't afford to give away the new product, hold a drawing and just give away one versus 300. This is a great way to get people interested in the product and it's a great way to collect customer information.
